The humanitarian U2 frontman was showered with praise from the music world at the "MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Bono" in Midtown February 21, 2003.

"I'm having the time of my life," Bono said of the bash where he was presented the award by ex-President Bill Clinton.

I was lucky to attend this event. It was a chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. I saw lots of celebs there. Here is a partial list, Bill Clinton, Mayor Bloomberg, Jay-Z, Melissa Etheridge, No Doubt, Elvis Costello, Fred Durst, Sheryl Crow, Ashley Judd, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Garbage, oh yeah Bono and the Edge, Robert DiNiro. Anyway it was lots of fun and quite an experience.
