Some sketches
My son loves animals, so I drew a few pen & ink sketches. I like pen because it is a challenge. No eraser available. When I draw in pencil and charcoal, the eraser becomes a drawing tool. Take a look at my design portfolio here.
Finally posted a few songs
On the songs page there are three songs to listen to. It is a work in progress but you can get an idea of what’s happening.
Hit hard, make loud
That is what an old friend of mine used to say about his drumming. Bzzz came over on Sunday for a rousing session. We recorded one new idea and played a few others. Got into about 15 of the originals. We plan to play more often.
We may start using midi Bass again through a Hartke bass attack. It sounds pretty cool.
Jam Saturday
Bzzz and I got together on Saturday for a two hour session. Ran through about half the originals and played Born to be Wild and Mississippi Queen just for the fun of it.
Also jammed a couple of riffs. One was good enough to record. So I put it in the in box (the hand-held recorder).
Later I had the unusual experience of calling the man on a band…
I’ve been on the other end of that party many times. But listen, they were playing two doors down in the yard not in the garage. Quite loud for three or four hours, OK. They started just before six pm and at 10:45 after my son awoke screaming for the second time I had to make the call.
Back from vacation
Just returned from vacation on Long Island. Well. I did manage to write a few lyric ideas. I will begin to put them to music soon.
Back in the saddle
Bruce “Bzzzz” Dooley came over to rehearse the original tunes yesterday. My long-time drummer extraordinaire. He had a knee, so it’s been a while. Felt great and played about 15 songs. Ended with “I’ve got wood”. Rocked it pretty good. Look for “Wood” at songs on the site.
Automatic
Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Martin, Alverez Yari, John Grey, these are my little friends. We hope to get to know you soon enough.
